Sweet-Sour Meatballs
Step One:
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 3 slices (preferably white) bread soaked in just enough milk to cover. Press excess milk out of bread prior to adding.
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon catsup
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 1 medium onion, grated
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
Mix all of the listed ingredients together; form into small bite size meatballs. Place meatballs on a baking sheet. Bake meatballs in an oven set at 375° for 10 minutes or until browned.
Step Two:
- 1 15-ounce can pineapple chunks with juices
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon catsup
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- ¼ cup cornstarch
Place all ingredients for sauce in a Dutch oven; cook until the mixture thickens. Add cooked meatballs and simmer for 15 minutes. Serve with tooth picks.
