Sweet-Sour Meatballs

Step One:

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 3 slices (preferably white) bread soaked in just enough milk to cover. Press excess milk out of bread prior to adding.
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon catsup
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 medium onion, grated
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Mix all of the listed ingredients together; form into small bite size meatballs. Place meatballs on a baking sheet. Bake meatballs in an oven set at 375° for 10 minutes or until browned.

Step Two:

  • 1 15-ounce can pineapple chunks with juices
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon catsup
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • ¼ cup cornstarch

Place all ingredients for sauce in a Dutch oven; cook until the mixture thickens. Add cooked meatballs and simmer for 15 minutes. Serve with tooth picks.
